Enderle Center’s Paper Pennies Campaign
to Benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

TUSTIN, CALIF., January 25, 2010 – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Orange County/Inland Empire Chapter (LLS) is pleased to join with the Enderle Center in Tustin (17th & Yorba) for a “Paper Pennies” campaign to raise funds for life-saving cancer research.

February 1 – March 31, 2010, residents can visit businesses in the Enderle Center, make a $1 donation to LLS (larger contributions are also welcome), and receive an enlarged paper penny to be posted at the business with their name on it indicating their support for LLS’ School & Youth program and participation in the fight against blood cancers.  Residents can select a participating school in their community to be credited for the donation, and LLS will tally the results and add it to these schools’ fundraising totals.

Piper Medcalf, LLS’ Executive Director observed, “We’re grateful to the Enderle family for their ongoing generosity to LLS, and we encourage members of our local community to turn out and support the Paper Pennies campaign.  Much progress has been made recently in developing life-saving cancer drugs, and every contribution brings us one step closer to our ultimate goal, a cure.”

For more information on School & Youth programs, please contact Robin McConnaughey-Rosewitz at (714) 481-5617.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services.  The mission of LLS is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.  Since its founding in 1949, LLS has invested nearly $700 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers.  The Orange County/Inland Empire chapter office is located at 2020 East 1st Street, Suite 120, Santa Ana, CA 92705.  Phone: (714) 481-5600.  Website: www.lls.org/ocie.
